Who are your superstars?
Who are your most valuable players?
How are you going to know them when they appear?
These are crucial questions because often your team superstars come in heavy disguise.
Either they seem quite scary with the extent and ferocity of their skepticism (for more on this topic try: “Network Marketing is like Marmite – you either love it or you hate it”).
Or they are obscured by the big talking, no action types who can be rather distracting.
Tens of times I’ve treated big talkers like superstars, only to find their follow through had no teeth.
Many, many tens of times I’ve wrangled to keep someone on the tracks while they complained about how hard they had it. My efforts always far exceeded theirs – and that was a recipe for disaster.
While I did those things, I neglected less needy people with smaller egos who were taking far more consistent action.
Is there a formula for spotting superstars that can save everyone the hassle of actual effort in the trenches? No.
But something that can save you a lot of time and wasted effort is to watch and see if someone’s actions match their goals.
Leaders come in all shapes and sizes. And sometimes they take a while to find their feet.
When you pay attention to the people taking action, and work where you’re DESERVED not where you’re NEEDED, you’ll find yourself feeling truly energised.
And that energy exchange creates an important kind of momentum, like a sort of after-burner that keeps you going way before the high octane fuel of big, visible results happens.
